Tour Safety

At Apple Student Tours, every group’s safety is our first priority. Everything we do from the moment you depart on your trip revolves around making sure that everyone has a safe, fun time!  Below are the measures we put in place to ensure this that every traveler has a safe and fun experience every time!

Background Checks
All Apple Employees that interface with your group (i.e. tour escort, tour guide, bus driver and private overnight security) go through the same background checks as everyone that works in your school.

Tour Escort
Every group is provided with a 24-hour tour escort that is with them from the moment they leave their local airport (yes, they fly out with your group!) until the moment they return home.  Your personal tour escort’s primary responsibilities are:
  • Pre-checking the group in at the airport including paying for baggage fees for the entire group
  • Pre-checking the group into every hotel.  Additionally, they go through each room before the group arrives to make sure everything is satisfactory
  • Maintaining all cash, tickets and vouchers so that no chaperone needs to!
  • Assist the lead chaperone with anything they need
Licensed Tour Guide
Apple Student Tours provides 1 licensed, professional guide per bus for each group.  They are there to provide an exceptional learning experience for the students but are responsible for the safety of each group.

Private Overnight Security
Each night at the hotel, we provide a licensed and bonded security officer to sit in the hallway and monitor your rooms.  We literally have eyes on your students 24 hours a day!!

Private Bus & Bus Driver
Each group will have their own private bus(es) that provides their transportation while they are on tour.  By contract with our bus companies, the buses our groups are transported on can not be more than 4 years old and are rigorously inspected by the NTSB to ensure the highest levels of safety while traveling.  In addition, each bus is driven by a licensed professional bus driver (not your tour guide) who is required to adhere to the federal maximum driver hours requirements.

24 Hour Call Center
Should something occur (either back home or on the trip), we have a 24 dedicated call center that travelers or parents back home can call to get in touch with anyone on the tour immediately!

Chaperone / Student Ratio
Each group will have a maximum student / chaperone ratio that is defined by that group.  These chaperones are with the students during all touring hours.

Lanyards
Every student traveler is required to wear the lanyard that Apple Student Tours provides each day while they are on tour.  This lanyard has our emergency toll free # on it so that the students always have our phone # with them.

Financial Security
Apple Tours is a proud member of the California Restitution Fund.  What that means is that in the unlikely event of our insolvency, the State of California guarantees all travelers 100% of their money back.SAFETY & SECURITY
